Fred Woods Home Expansion Project

The full outer building is now complete!

In January 2006, Chicago House was awarded a Section 811 capital advance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to expand the Fred Woods Home, the larger of the two facilities that comprise the Family Support Program. Construction is now underway, and is slated to be completed by the summer of 2008.

The expansion will add six more units to the Fred Woods Home, providing much-needed housing for the ever-growing number of families who are affected by both HIV/AIDS and homelessness. It will also expand common space for after-school tutoring, the community kitchen, and the computer lab.
