"In 1987, I was diagnosed with AIDS. At the time, I remember telling myself, 'Something good will come of this.' A decade later, I can say that having AIDS has given me the opportunity to learn and give life my best. AIDS has helped me understand that a part of me, my spiritual self, is free of all disease. It is the part that no one can touch or break."
- "Adam," a Chicago House resident
Chicago House provides permanent, community-based housing, supportive services and basic life skills to individuals and families struggling with HIV and AIDS. Many come to us with the added burdens of poverty, homelessness, few if any job skills, substance abuse and mental illness.
Through our residential and scattered-site housing, prevention programs, and supportive services, Chicago House enables them to return to a life of dignity and hope.
