Housing Programs

Chicago House opens the door to opportunities most of our clients have never had: a permanent home; a place to learn and practice the techniques of everyday living; and a community of professionals and peers who provide dignity, encouragement and hope. Our housing programs include:

The Supportive Living Program, which provides a "first step" to individuals who come to us directly from the streets or the shelter system

The Independent Living Program for those who are able to live independently, but still need access to services

The Family Support Program for families with dependent children

The new TransHousing Program, which provides housing to members of the transgender community.

The Gaining Ground and Scattered-Site Housing, which provide rent subsidies to enable people to live in the community
