“When one door closes, another door opens.” While a lack of resources and guidance can make some doors improbable to open, Chicago House, in partnership with Architectural Artifacts, Inc., is interested in bringing to light the potential in a difficult situation. Join us for an evening of elegance, intrigue and hope as 60 of the city’s top artists and designers come together to create original works of art that will be auctioned off to help open doors for those in need.

Another Door Opens is a design industry event with the goal of raising essential funds for Chicago House programs. Last year, the event welcomed over 550 people and grossed over $50,000, making it THE design event of the year. Architectural Artifacts, whose philosophy has always been that beautiful objects are life’s inspiration, has given vintage doors to over 50 of the best artists, interior designers, and architects and asked them to create something completely new. The designer “doors” will be on display at the event and auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to Chicago House.

VIP Tickets ($200) include:

  • Luxury Scavenger Hunt from 6-7 pm
  • Special Deal – Architectural Artifacts, Inc. will offer a special discount price on select, in-store items for VIP guests. A percentage of sales will be donated to Chicago House.
  • Valet Parking
  • Eddie Ross Meet & Greet, Book Signing (book included for VIP guests)
  • Exclusive use of VIP room from 6-7pm with passed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and private bar

We are excited to announce that Eddie Ross will be joining our event. Eddie is the East Coast Editor of Better Homes & Gardens. Recognized by design aficionados for his inventive, out-of-the-box approach to high-style decorating and entertaining on a budget, Eddie consistently re-imagines the aesthetic possibilities in secondhand finds, imbuing them with a chic and colorful sophistication within everyone’s reach. His design work has been published in Domino, Vanity Fair, Country Living and The New York Times. His first book, Modern Mix: Curating Personal Style with Chic & Accessible Finds , was published in September 2015 and an autographed copy of Eddie’s book will be gifted to each VIP guest.
