Moment #04: January 11, 1987 – Chicago House purchases first property for the Supportive Living Program in West Town

Chicago House expanded its residential capacity again early in 1987 with the Supportive Living Program, housing seventeen individuals who required assistance with daily tasks. Residents had access to CNAs 16 hours each day and an overnight manager after hours. As 1987 drew to a close, Chicago House provided thirty individuals with a place to call home and connected residents to food, clothing, medical care, housekeeping, transportation, psychological and pastoral counseling, and case management services.
